Our good friend and talented designer, Martine Ilana, was looking to add some moving pictures to her online print catalog in the summer of 2011. So we sent a pair of cinematographers up the California coast to join her and the La Mer Collections team in capturing the spirit of what was going to be her fall fashion line-up. After two days of filming against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Big Sur, we were eager to get into the edit bay and pay homage to both the Parisian roots of La Mer’s fashion sense, and the 1960s counter-culture that put places like Big Sur on the map. These boots, were made for motion.
